Volunteer Opportunities from now until Chrsitmas!

There are so many volunteer opportunities from now until Christmas! Please read below and contact me at dani@hopalong.org if you're available for any of them.

Calling all kitten lovers! We're having a kitten adoption every Saturday and Sunday from now until Christmas. If you are available to coordinate, mobile assist, or screen on any upcoming weekend (including this weekend), please let me know!

Santa Paws is almost here! This year we're having two Santa Paws events: one one Saturday December 5th at our Berkeley Pet Food Express adoption, and another at the Pet Food Express Headquarters on December 18th, in the evening.

What we'll need:
  • A very special volunteer to dress up as Santa Claus and pose for photos with dogs and cats. Someone ca do both events or we can have a different volunteer for each.
  • Volunteers to help handle the animals waiting for photos with "Santa Paws."

This week

  • Thursday we'll need a transporter to take a few dogs from the Hopalong office down to Aborn in Fremont, then pick up a dog and bring her back to Hopalong. This can be done any time during the day and you can use one of Hopalong's vehicles for the drive.
  • Saturday our dog Bounce needs to be picked up from Happy Hound in Oakland, taken to our mobile adoption at Rockridge Pet Food Express, then handled at the event from 12pm-3pm. He will also need a ride back to Happy Hound after the event if he is not adopted.

Last minute Fur Ball Projects at the Hopalong office

We have a few last minute Fur Ball projects going on today and tomorrow in the office. Please let me know if you can help out with any of the following:
  • We need someone to pick up cookies and brownies from Costco. You can take our vehicle and charge this to the Hopalong account (of course),
  • A litter of kittens and several cases of wine need to be picked up from our board member in Marin either today or tomorrow,
  • Several black pieces of cloth we bought to use as tablecloths need to be trimmed and ironed (they're already washed). Hopefully someone can do this from home,
  • Several thank you party favors need to be put together. All materials for these are here in the office. they can be put together tomorrow morning or this afternoon,

Let me know if you can help with any of these last minute projects! We are eternally grateful to all our wonderful volunteers!

Fur Ball Preparations

We are up to our elbows in Fur Ball preparations!

We need someone to help us out by checking our post office box tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. We expect a lot of Fur Ball returns in the mail, but we staff members are putting our noses to the grindstone and can't get away from the office! if you are interested in doing one or all three of these days please let me know. You'll need to swing by the office to get the mail box key and address.

Also, we have Fur Ball flyers ready to be posted in all of our adoption sites and anywhere else that's flyer friendly. If you can stop by to grab a handful, that's great! if you're doing a transport over the next few days don't forget to pick some of those up before you head to the adoption site!

Thank you!

Tuesday:

- Our kitten Rapunzel needs to be dropped off at Campus Veterinary in Berkeley between 7:30am and 8:30am. We know that's early, but transporting Rapunzel is a treat at any time of the day.

- Rapunzel also needs a ride back to the office from Campus Veterinary, also around 4pm.
